A starting date for the Dwarka Expressway project has not been determined yet. However, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, is scheduled to visit the expressway before its opening. The Prime Minister considers the Dwarka Expressway as his dream project, and a plan has been developed to have him inaugurate the Gurugram section of the expressway. The authorities are aiming to complete the entire cloverleaf flyover at the Kherki Daula toll plaza on the Delhi-Jaipur Motorway and the Gurugram segment of the Dwarka Expressway by May 15.  

A new expressway called the Dwarka Expressway is currently under construction, connecting the Kherki Daula toll plaza in Gurugram to Shivmurti in Mahipalpur, Delhi. This ambitious project has a total estimated cost of Rs 9,000 crore and covers a distance of 18.9 kilometers in Gurugram and 10.1 kilometers in Delhi.

Authorities have reported that the Northern Peripheral Road or NH 248-BB, also known as Dwarka Expressway, spans a total of 23 kilometers, with approximately 4 kilometers currently under construction. A 3.6-kilometer-long tunnel from the Dwarka Motorway to Palam Airport is also being built, along with an underpass in Mahipalpur to connect the Delhi-Gurugram Motorway to the Dwarka Motorway. This week, senior district administration officials will be visiting the Dwarka Motorway in conjunction with officials from the National Highway Authority of India (NAHI). The Dwarka Expressway will start at Shiv-Murti on NH-8 (Delhi-Gurugram expressway) and end near Kherki Daula Toll Plaza, passing through Dwarka Sector 21, the Gurugram border, and Basai. Its construction is expected to alleviate traffic congestion on the Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway and other major roads.
